x. the hellhound and crow's call .x "There's an old legend that once a soul leaves a body, a crow leads it to the after life. But if that soul is unable to rest peacefully, the crow returns it to its body so that the soul may do what it needs to be able to rest, even if it means murder."Another legend, one of a ghostly black dog with piercing red eyes, is commonly known in the college of Grave Falls. If you see this dog three times, it is said you will die, or mysteriously disappear without return. This ghostly figure is said to be found only near cemeteries or churches, which is what the college lies near. Ninteen-year-old Sarah Lee has always believed in the super-natural world, because she's a part of it. Ever since she was a little girl, Lee has been able to see and sense a ghost's presence. Her family questions her sanity and she hasn't any friends at her college. Everyone thinks of her as the goth girl who worships the demons. She doesn't mind. She doesn't exactly have much interest in friends anyway. Her only friend is her pet crow. The crow is usually silent, but when it caws, it means there's a soul somewhere in Grave Falls that needs guidance to the after life. However, if the soul is unable to enter the after life peacefully, Lee understands that she must satisfy the ghost's needs before the soul can rest in peace, even if she must kill. But there's a lot of souls out there in the large city of Grave Falls, especially because of the legend of the Hellhound, whom she knows all too well, she needs help, and can chose who ever she wants to join her. If you find a crow next to you where ever you are, find a mirror and look at your back. There may be a big black crow tattooed on your back. And that means you've just entered the world of the super-natural.

Sarah Lee let out a sigh as she left her last class of the day at Grave Falls college. Her long black hair swished quietly behind her as she walked. Halloween was around the corner, her favorite holiday, and that night was the college's annual Halloween party in the courtyard. The college itself looked gothic and decorated for Halloween all year round. Sarah Lee didn't mind. In fact, she preferred it that way. Though isolated, she didn't feel lonely at all as she strolled along the darkened path to the courtyard. The party wasn't until 11 that night, but the decorations were already up and lighting the pitch black night.

Kyle Gideon walked into his class room to grade papers for the weeks work. His class room was filled with lanterns and holloween decorations for the haunted house that night. Kyle was a strong type teacher for his age. He was 22 and a very well known archiologest for finding tombs in the most oddest of places. Peoples homes in Romania and Germany. He sat down at his computer desk and looked through the paper work of the students. Sarah was the only student that seemed to care about her grade. Most of the kids were failing because A. They loved to chat. B. Cheat or C. Hit on the teacher for A+s.

Sarah Lee eventually found herself standing in front of the door of her favorite class, history. She didn't know why she was there. Of all places she had been, this classroom made her feel content. She quietly knocked on the door and opened it, half expecting the room to be empty. She was surprised to find her professor inside, with no light but the lanterns hanging from the ceiling. "Oh, sorry, am I interrupting?" she asked as she slipped inside and closed the door behind her with a soft click.

Kyle looked up and took off his glasses. "No not at all. Did you need something Sarah Lee?" he asked grabbing a chair for her to sit in. He went to the coffie machine and put on some hot water to make hot chocolate.

"Oh... uh.. well.. I'm not really sure why I came here... actually... I guess I'm just comfortable here," Sarah flustered a bit, not knowing why. She brushed a lock of her long hair behind her ear and looked down a bit. Her face felt hot, though she didn't know why, she was usually indifferent to people.

Kyle grabbed two coffee cups and handed one full of his best hot chocolate to her. It was a sweet smell of pepper met and vanilla. It was a family recipe only he knew. He took a sip and sat down. "Well I hope you are. I like my students who are conferrable with their teacher." he said smiling.

Sarah sat in the chair quietly and sipped her hot chocolate. It tasted really good. She kept her eyes averted from her professor and said nothing more. She could feel herself blushing, which was probably very obvious on her pale skin. A sigh escaped her as she set the cup down. "So.. are you going to the party tonight?"

He sipped more of the hot chocolate. "Probaly not. I don't like partys that much. Plus I got a lot of papers to work on." he said. He noticed her blushing and put a warm hand on her pale hand and rubbed it. "Sarah Lee is there something on your mind you would like to talk about?" he asked her.

Sarah's face got redder as she pulled her hand away. She stood and shook her head. "N-no, I, uh.... I just got bored--" she started to explain but stopped. A shriek pierced her ears as she looked up at the ceiling, seeing nothing until a shadow swooped down and landed on her shoulder. A crow with glowing red eyes. "Alastor," she spoke softly to the crow.

"Ah thats a really nice crow you have there. And what was that?" he asked her getting up looking around. He gently opened the door seeing nothing in the class room itself or the hallway. He went back to Sarah Lee and started to get cold. He checked the windows. They were all closed.

"Wait, you.... you can see Alastor?" Sarah asked, referring to her crow, whom was still cawing loudly. Sarah Lee shook her head and stroked her companion's wings. She realized what she just asked her professor must have sounded crazy. "Uh... nevermind... I, um.... really need to go..." she stammered before she raced out the door into the night. There was a soul that needed help to the afterlife.

Kyle was going to stop her but let her go. He packed up his bags and went to head out. The door was shut and locked from the inside. He tryed banging on it and ranming his body against it. It wouldn't budge. "Now this is a strange turn of events." he said.

Sarah Lee cursed softly to herself as she stopped, hearing banging coming from Kyle's classroom. She returned to it quickly and tried to open it. "Professor?" she called.
